    Hi Guys

Can anybody tell me quickly what the settings are to allow certain keywords within a adgroup remain at positions 1 - 3.

Or does anybody have any suggestions as to the best way to achieve this?

    cheers

    Andy

First of all, why do you want positions 1 to 3 and no other? Are you certain that positions 4 and below convert less? If I were you, I would test different positions before trying to stick in a particular place.

If you insist on positions 1 to 3, you can set up Position Preferences in your account. Just click on the campaign you want to configure, click 'Edit Campaign Settings', and you'll see the option under Networks and Bidding.

You can also stick in a specific place by simply increasing/decreasing your bid, then managing your keywords and ads in such a way as to retain the position.

Use position preference to control your ad position but one big disadvantage of it is when price moves up (which daily happens) then you have to increase price manually or your ad will not show.

don't stick with position preference. though 2-3 is ideal. but if ur add is very competative and there are lots of bidders then don't go for position prefeence. manually check the bid and keep ur add on desire position

Try to set max CPC to 10$. You will spend exact fairly price for no 1. Tried several times. Mostly by mistake. :D

just take postion preference, but when ur bid is lower than that position preference ur add will not shown so need to regulate it all time

It is good to start your bidding high so you can get some good click throughs. Having good click throughs will help you get your quality score up. This will eventually result in cheaper clicks.

In Google Analytics go to Traffic Sources/Keyword Positions then click on the keyword to see in which position the keyword was clicked on most. Typically it will be 1-3rd position.
