Find an industry, product set and niche that you want to pursue and have knowledge or are interested in. There are dropship companies out there but the best way, I think, is to find a distributor or manufacturer that will drop ship directly to your customer. This may be challenging as most have min orders wholesale, etc.. But there are there...For example, if you want to sell sporting goods, Nike or Wilson will not be options directly as you have to have a physical location and min orders, but there are other products and manuf. out there that will. That is where finding a niche is so important. Im not so familiar with DH gate, doba etc.. I just think that the people that have direct relationships and can get orders filled a high percentage of the time are finding great success. You dont want to be on ebay selling and get an order and go to your dropshipper and they are out of the product...e-suicide....
Im still learning my self but this has been what I have found to be a good starting point.
    Best of luck!

Ecommerce is about any online sales, not just hard products. Have you considered selling digital products? A lot less hassle and no problem with supply.
I'm tossing this into the mix because I've tried both. I have accounts with SaleHoo and Doba. The end result was finding out that if I want to sell on eBay, the market is too competitive. I sold a couple of items, but you have to be ready to do all of the work in the middle. Also, make sure that there is a really good supply of the product you want to sell. If there isn't, you may end up selling something that goes out of stock before your sale is made.

Don't bother with dropshippers, most of the dropshippers out thier are a complete rip off. You will also find many other merchants drop shipping the same product as you, creating direct competition. Spend some time researching what you are going to sell, once you have decided on the product look up industry trade shows for your product. Trade shows, expo's and conferences are an excellent way to network with other business owners in your industry and to find new supply contacts.
