I would like to get a clone done of this page: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0398076073/ref=sib_dp_pt#reader-link I am happy for it to have a similar look It only needs to work for one book Any takers? Let me know what you charge and how long it would take. You can PM me your reply
a complete clone of the amazon page???? save the page in firefox SAVE AS --> COMPLETE WEBSITE then you have a html-file and a folder with all the graphics then open it in some html editor like frontpage or dreamweaver or preferably a texteditor, and edit it like you want. then put it back up to a webspaceaccount by ftp.
just make sure you don't do anything illegal because it is very easy to miss something Amazon has put a lot of money to make sure people don't steal there ideas
Hmmm I have now followed Happy's guidelines and discovered that there are 2500+ lines of code - most of which I don't understand. Cloning this is above my skill level So I am still looking for someone to do this. Let me know what you would charge.
You can't just copy Amazon's code if you want to stay legit, hope you understand that. and... 2500 lines of code? Does it make coffee too? Something like this shouldn't cost you more than 500 US$, and it *SHOULD* work for more than one book. Make that a design requirement or you'll end up with crappy code ;-) BTW, my CMS could do the trick, but it doesn't look much like that amazon page, and i can't get it to be a clone of that easilly. Have a look (link in signature), and if you like it PM me. Depending on what modifications to the base CMS you want, i could do it for 300 euro or a bit more (negotiable)..
well to stay legit i created her a custom one. a small simple solution, if amarie22 wants to share, she should post the link here.
Happy to oblige happpy That link is http://dj.43.gs/book/ BTW I just got " an infraction at Digital Point Forums. Reason: Thread Started In Wrong Category" As I thought this was the right category, can someone put me straight and tell me where it should be? (They just penalized me, they did not tell me what I should have done, unfortunately)
