I would like to create a website similar to amazon, using OS Commerce/Zen cart etc

I want to develop an e-commerce website where merchants can create their own accounts and start selling the products. I would like to know if this is possible with famous open source e-commerce packages like OS Commerce or Zen Cart and etc. Or is there any other commercial or free packages that has this capability ? Please give me the details clearly.
