Hello everyone, I just put up a new blog about paranormal subjects like ghosts, poltegeists, etc. I would really appreciate anyone who would take a moment to look at it and tell me what you think. I am more interested in finding out if people think the content is interesting than I am with the theme. I plan to customize the theme heavily in the future. The blog is part of a bigger site. Do you think it is OK for it to look differently or should it look like the main site does? Any sincere comments at all will be appreciated. The Paranormal Blog Thanks!
i thought it was interesting reading. the layout and color scheme is pleasing to the eye. no spelling or grammatical errors either. very nice indeed..
The site looks cool, I like how the heading is slightly opaque enough to see the background through it, cool effect. Also cool articles.
Wow, very unique design! I like it a lot The site loads fast and is easy to navigate. I do think it is okay for it to look different from the main site since it is a blog, and the topic of the blog fits the design quite well. One minor suggestion: make the ad background (below the right hand menu) the same color as the site background.
Great info... kind of spooky feel to the site, which is what I'm sure you were going after. How about a scary sound upon entering. Nothing long, just something unexpected that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when ou access the site
Thanks everyone! I appreciate it and will consider what everyone has said. Rep given to all for your comments and advice.
Good content, very Coast-to-Coast AM. None of your links are live; is that intentional, or did you post in visual mode? I have a related-topic blog on New Age Consciousness and I invite you to exchange blogroll links if you care to.
Im not sure I understand what you mean saying that none of the links are live. They look live to me and I am able to click on any of them to navigate through the site. Would you care to elaborate on what you meant or saw? Thanks
Cool blog man! I love the color scheme and the header with opacity. I'd suggest getting a nice footer and a prettier sidebar, that's all I have for this blog. Goodluck!
Thanks kidblogger I do plan on adding a footer (this them didnt have one at all) Has anyone else seen that links are not clickable?
Wow, I love what you have done with the background and the top part/header of your site so that it matches the background. The colors are great and the content is not overdone which is good. The text around the image at the top can be improved by adding some sort of spacing so that it's not right up against the image. The color of the text may need to be a different color as well as it's a similar color to the background that it's on which is never really a good design tactic. Overall, you site looks good. Good luck.
Hello john269 When you speak of the image at the top are you referring to the picture of Nepal with the blus sky? Thanks a lot for your comments I appreciate that enough to give some green.
Yes, I am on about that image when it comes to the text and space around the image. There is no spacing in between the image and the text which makes it not as professional looking.
That is odd. I have the hspace as well as the vspace set for that and it shows a margin for me in IE. I just checked in FireFox and it isnt showing the space around it. I suppose I need to figure out why this is so. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
Just went through your site an noticed that the site looks somewhat different in the 3 browsers I used - IE, FireFox, & Opera. It looks almost the same on IE & FireFox except for the spacing between the picture & text which is too tight on FireFox. On Opera, the spacing is the same as FireFox. Also, when you scroll down there is an effect of the lines scrolling up from a dark background - a little spooky in its own way...
Thanks for taking so much time in your review. Very cool of you to check it out in three different browsers. I was especially interested to know about Opera
That's the problem with having so many different browsers is that they show data differently to the end user. At least they don't show it to differently, but that's only if you code properly. I remember when I first started coding my site when I started all this stuff over 7 years ago. I started with IE and it looked great. Looked at it in Netscape and it look awful. When I design now I make sure that I look at my site in different browsers plus also different resolution sizes. I have even started looking at the site in different font sizes as some peoples browsers have their font settings different to other people. I still though get one or 2 people now and again saying that my sites text is to small and they can't see it and I have to tell them to change their browsers default font size and that should help.
