My site fluctuates between 600 and 4000 (sometimes up to 8000) indexed pages. Right now it's at around 700. I wish google would just make up its mind and leave all my pages indexed. Has anyone else noticed this? It's not just a recent thing either, It's been happening for the 3 years I've been running my site.
Yes I have sites that move up one day and then are down the next. Reminds me of the old Google dance with pagerank but this dance never seems to end. Google seems to be taking very small baby steps. The good news is some of my sites seem to be doing better with certain keywords so they seem to be moving in the right direction. This Time.
I'm seeing the same thing on most of my sites. All I know is I no longer use Google for searching and Yahoo is driving the most traffic to my sites now. I have co-workers (I do IM part time) which know nothing about SEO and IM who have even noticed how crappy Google's search results have been lately. So the common people are noticing!
I was wondering exactly how much you spent asking Google to index your pages?? What makes you any more special than the other 1,000,000,000 + websites online? Perhaps instead of complaing you could devise a better solution. I mean if it were that easy to run a search engine there would be 1000s of Googles..... Complaining about a free service is usually wasting your time.....it is free after all and nobody twisted your arm to build another website....
:ugh: clam down dude. No need to get your panties in a bundle. I was stating an observation I've made about my site.
It ususally fluctuates on a monthly basis... one month i'll have really high numbers, the next they'll be really low. no real rhyme or reason to it.
To further clarify this for everyone What is being described in known as "everflux" This involves a great deal of size of the web, timely issues. IE do a search for Korean Missle Launch and you'll find relevant content issues near the top of Google SERP. Now, is the college bar scene of the utmost import?...on the grand scheme of things no...however World Cup rules !!!!! Google as great and powerful as they are realizes what needs to be updated and what doesn't... it has a monthly crawl and a daily crawl...each does things differently than the other. Google also works in a distributed computing environment and as such things in California maybe different than here in Philadelphia on the Google network due to issues not updating instantly but over time..... The web is alive and breathing... and as such moments of static occurance are no longer likely. Rankings go up and down daily, so too does all related issues regarding SEO: pages, sites, link counts, PR, authority pages, dropped pages, newly indexed pages, etc. Hope this helps Peace
