When I started working with web sites. I got 2 domains from them. I paid $20 for them. Now that is not a lot but it is my money. Well a week later I started hosting with them. One of the sites was for a cleaning company that I owned. Well when Times got bad we had to close. Well I called yahoo and told the guy on the phone that I wanted to stop my hosting. Well when he told me how to stop the hosting. He also told me how to close my domains. After I told him I do not want to close the domains. He told me oh what we are doing will not close the domains. Well it did. I didn’t know this for about a month or so. When I called yahoo and told them the story. The supervisor at the time told me that the yahoo tech messed up. I was like ok well what we can do. He told me that I would have to buy the domains one more time. I asked him Why would I have to re buy the domains when I sill have ownership of the domains for another 6 months. He didn’t have an answer for me. So I called the next day to talk to someone who could. Well that didn’t go well. First I sat on the phone for 94 min. I was on hold so long that I fell asleep for 15 min and was still on hold when I woke up. I told the new this guy that if they don’t reinstate my domains I want a refund on them. They can’t do that.... What crap? I am not telling you to not use them. Just be advise how they treat there customers

Yahoo has delivered great services in the past and they have many happy customers. I guess it is pure bad luck that you had some bad experience with them.

Yahoo is still the number one Dot Com company in the World Wide Web! :)

Yahoo is still good. But the person who handled your problem were not good. Report to yahoo, state the time. Don't let those little bugs bugging yahoo rep.

$250 is a hefty investment, when you pay for a service that high you expect a "good service". It's actually disappointing!!

I am sorry to hear of your experience. It is weird to imagine that a multi billion company would have problems like this. I just don't understnad the part where they refuse to refund you for their own mistake which they themselves acknowledged!

Surprised that a big company like that has problems like that. But I'm sorry to hear that you lost your money. And not just the domain fees, the phone bill as well!

You should try telling Yahoo that since they acknowledge that it was their yahoo tech that messed up, then that certain Yahoo tech should be the one to rebuy the domain for you, or grant the refund. If they don't know why tech it was, then they'd have to refund you themselves since that domain was already paid for, by you, & they messed up.

I bought a yahoo domain because it was really cheap - 1.99. You could not beat that deal anywhere. Then I transferred to bluehost.com for free and got an extended 1 year free.

Can you point us to that reference where you read this? As far as I know Yahoo is not the number one domain registration company, not the number one search engine company..so what exactly do you mean by number on dot com company? lol..

I don't use Yahoo! for any of my services anymore. Not even Email. Google has easily replaced them, and for Domains, I just use GoDaddy, or whoever my friends have tried.
