As long as its on a different IP then yes.

Yeah since your PR 5 google crawls your site very often. That means that it will update your cache and notice new content.

Not really, but you dont want it to look spammy, so I would alter the anchor text every once in a while.

Keep building links and just wait it out :)

There isnt just one. You can have a million backlinks from high pr sites but if you have crappy onsite optimization your not going to get ranked very well. its a combination of everything.

If your onsite is good, then id advise getting quality relevant backlinks.

My opinion on reciprocal linking is this: I would rather have a high quality and relevant reciprocal link than no link at all.

    What do you think?

    Hi.

First, thank you so much for taking the time to help us. I appreciate your time very much.

I read on a fairly reputable source that Google takes your number of pages into account for PR. Is that true? (I am assuming quality content and not pages of garbage.)

Secondly, I am still not clear on how often Google updates PR. I had a page ranked as 5. I seem to have done something wrong, since I am now PR = 4. I am working very hard to optimize my posts and have (I hope) a killer post coming up that will (again, I hope) attract quality links. I have read that Google updates all the time. Then I read that no, it's every 3-4 months. Which is is?

    Thanks again.

    Kate

    Please answer this question ..
I used to use ChaibiAlaa.com as a domain, then changed it CoffeeCupBreak.com, making ChaibiAlaa a 301 redirection. It has been 3 days around (new domain) but I lost about 50% of my traffic, no new pingbacks, backlinks, neither new comments. My posts are very useful as you can see .. with a clean site .. Please review it and tell why all that hard traffic...

    Hello,

    Here's my question:

Does a link on multiple web pages of the same domain name(URL) count as only one link or as if linked from several different URLs?

    Thanks,
    George

Agreed. I'd even take a nofollow link with my brand's anchor text for another nofollow link with their brands anchor text. Why not? Right?

Social Bookmarking is a way for people to basically share things on the web (Sites like Digg.com) and it helps your SERP's because when you make your bookmarks, you should put a backlink to your website in the body of the text. More backlinks = Better SERP's. Its basically just another effective way to get backlinks to your site.

Well, yes and no. High quality relevant (one way) links are by far better than no link at all, however having a crappy link is better than having none at all.

Im not sure about the number of pages having anything to do with PR, it may be, but I havnt had any first hand experience with that.

As for PR, heres the thing. PR = the number of links to your site. The number of links to your site is being updated every second a google bot crawls a site with your link on it. In that sense, your "PR" is being updated constantly. The number that google shows (Which does not matter at all) Is updated every 3-4 months. You should'nt care what your PR is, because if somebody has 30 Perfect inbound links to their site, their pr will be 0 or 1, BUT they could still rank higher than a site with 50,000 backlinks and PR 6. Its quality not quantity, and PR is about quantity ( for the most part )

Probably because it takes google a while to re-index your new site. I'm not sure where your traffic sources were before, but obviously you lost them somewhere (Maybe people were comming from inner pages, and if they type in an inner page then they dont get redirected to your new site?)

It just means you have a link on your page that links to your page lol. No big deal, It can't hurt you at all so dont worry about it.

Build a lot of quality backlinks and the google bot will find your site more often. Use web 2.0 sites that get a lot of traffic like wordpress, digg etc.

It counts as multiple links, however most inner pages don't have any PR and aren't very popular so they dont do as much as the homepage link with a high PR.

Yeah why not. Nofollows do help your site, just not nearly as much as dofollow's do. One way links are always best if you can get them.

If you get to choose, sitewide because you just get more links. The inner page links aren't as useful but if you get to chose homepage vs sitewide, id choose sitewide every time.

Started with one website, tested, saw results and repeated (That was a while ago though)

I have 50 link exchange links on the bottom of my main page. They link to me, I link to them. Is 50 detrimental to my site, should I trim it down more? Should I use nofollow for some of them?

50 I would consider a link farm, and google doesn't like those.

If they link to you, and you link to them it does do some good, but not a lot. Its 100x better to have them link to you, but you not link to them ( one way links ). If you have 2 sites, offer them links on 1 site, if they put your other site on theirs. (3 way exchange)

Thanks! I will take this into immediate consideration. I didn't do this for SEO reasons at all, but to help traffic flow between our hobby sites, which are all for plain enjoyment, but need members to function obviously {I'm not here to learn to promote for money, but the same promotion techniques would apply for promotion for any reason I would think}. I guess I'll focus more on quality vs quantity! Would 20 be a tolerable amount?

I've heard triangle link systems are penalised by Google, is this true?
