I was once banned from DP....Gasp!

    The scandal! But it's true.

There was a point in time when DP had a change in policy regarding forum signatures. I agree with their right to run their site however they want, but I thought the policy was unjust, so I changed my signature to say so.

Next thing I know, I got a 2 point warning from some guy named McFox which said I harassed a member (him), although that never happened. He sent me a pm demanding that I change my signature. So I changed it...to a message saying I don't understand why McFox has a problem with my sig. I thought it was funny. He did not. He gave me another 2 point warning, which says I was harassing a member, then banned me for two weeks.

What's weird is after he banned me, he banned my roommate's account and then gave me a 10 point warning for having duplicate accounts, which I did not have. Weird. It kind of cheesed me off so I figured if DP was going to ban me over that nonsense I was going to ban them, for five years. Five years later I'm back, and McFox is nowhere to be found. I wonder how many contributions I could have made during that time if not for his foolishness.

What's the point of all of this? There is none. I'm just bored and thought I would tell a story.

If this thread is a sample of your "contributions", then I don't think we were missing much.

But is it a sample, or rather, an example of the status quo? I don't think so. But even at that, you apparently still read til the end. :)

We've never allowed adult links in signatures so your problem wasn't due to any "change".

Because I'm not American I always have a laugh when people refer to roommates, we have flat mates - people you share your flat (aka apartment or house) with but we never actually share rooms. I guess it's a hangover from sharing rooms in the University dorms? Our student hostels all have individual rooms but that's different countries doing things their own way, I get that. Anyway, makes me laugh.

I can get that :) But, here at India, most student hostels do not have individual rooms and we share the same room (sometimes even upto 4 members share the same room). I stayed for an year at students hostel and shared my room with 2 other people. It was **really** a best part of my college life. Got some good understanding friends.

I hate when my roommate gets me banned for duplicate accts..

Now we have a proxy jar and every time someone gets an acct banned they have to put $5 in the proxy jar.

I have no idea why we say roommates. It's technically the wrong term, but it is easier than saying a friend who was living in my house at the time. :)

Diva, for someone who doesn't like the topic, I can't help but notice you spending time in it. :p
