I don't know about others, but I personally am here primarily to give what was given to me. A number of more experienced copywriters helped me along my path of learning, helped me to discover my own style, my own strengths and weaknesses. So if I can pass it on to someone else honestly trying to better themselves, then I want to do so. (There are some that are, ummm, less than their best that are trying to peddle their services for more than they should. These I have no truck with.) That's mainly why I'm here. Dot PS - But each of us can always find something to learn from another person. That's what makes copywriting so fascinating!
That's very noble of you, Dorothy. Though we both travel along the same yellow brick road, unlike you, I did not start from Kansas. I can only hope in a couple of months/years/decades, I would attain the same munificent spirit that you possess. Frankly, I was on the verge on leaving last week, but the BST sites/domain sections have proven to be quite addictive. Plus, there seem to be a couple of fellas here that might not be so bad after all, even if he (I mean they) makes a living by smuggling Mexicans across the border (hah, you thought I couldn't figure out the reason for your trip to Mehiko, did you now, Mr. Pot?)
Well I have been using the forum for a few years to find work. I have watched this section go from a good place to find work to a new freelance.com site. Full of crappy writers begging to work for mere pennies. Pathetic. I wish it could be cleaned up.
Hey Smyrl. I have been consistently reporting threads in the section for the past month. But most of them are not moved. Why is that? It is frustrating you know, coming each time to see the Copywriting section being littered with BST threads.
I think it's worth spending a few minutes on here each day. I like to drop by and see what's going on, and I've picked up a couple of good clients via this section (even recently). I have noticed that there's a lot more BST posting creeping in to this area. If it's a buyer I assume it was just an accident (the Content Creation section is several subsections deep, so might be easy to miss), and will point them towards the correct forum. Sadly, I'm spending a lot less time on forums in general than I used to. Even the more specialist writing forums that I'm a member of seem to be filling up with people who think that writing is a way to make a fast buck on the side.
