    I have a domain I am going to develop
    Attorneylistings.com
    I wanted it to be a directory site.
    I need tips on how best to fill the listings from lawyers.
    The hardest part is in the beginning getting the website promoted
    I need some input on the best methods to get my message to them.
    And also any features that I could add to the site that will make it great.

    So far your site looks empty.
    First of all you need to put something on there, worst case wordpress with some professional looking template.

    I venture you don't have any ranking for the site so this falls flat as a marketing tool. If you are US based I'd simply call on law firms sounding authoritative. You site name is good enough for it and if it looks ok on superficial checking you might talk some attorneys into filling out your forms.
