I Want To Track Where Users Click On My Site!

    Hi,
I am about to implement a brand new design on one of my biggest sites and I want to see how usable the new look is. I need to check if the new layout and the changed positions of the buttons is favorable for my traffic.

I want to check if people are liking it.

Something like the google analytics overlay, but better and most important - to be working (Google analytics shows equal clicks on all of my buttons).

    Thanks

    Because it will be inefficient.

If google have this feature in their counter, then there must be some kind of professional feature which is intended for people to monitor how e.g. a new user interface reflect the site functionality and where people click the most.

Are you simply want to count button/ link clicks or more indepth analysis to create heat maps of what people are doing with their cursor etc?

Look for a tool called Crazy Egg. It isn't free, but as it's remotely hosted it'll probably cost less in terms of bandwidth than free solutions :)

Try ClickTale because they show you heatmaps of the most activity and also you can watch users mouse movements which is very revealing.

CrazyEgg is good.. didnt know they charged now?

I use ClickTracks to track where users are going on the site and on average how often they stay on a specific webpage as well as where they go from each page. Nifty little stats program to say the least.
