Hey all... I want to start my own ad network, similiar to CPX/Google/Yahoo or any other CPM/CPC network out there.

Does anyone know of software that I can buy that is "ad network" server software? I know ADiFY has one (http://www.adify.com/) but I don't know of others.

    Thanks!

If budget is not an issue that's great. You can go far. Good luck.

Actually it depends on how much you willing to spend for the script. If you want quality script you can get one at high price. But if low quality script you can get at cheaper price. :)

Throwing money at the problem is not the answer, you should learn more about how the systems function before spending 100k on some script that is probably not worth anywhere near that

rickdane - Of course. Only an idiot would throw money at the problem.

Anyone else know of any good "ad network" systems I can purchase besides the ones listed in this thread?

If you're planning on making an ad network you should listen to rickdane. Also, don't get into the ad network market unless you have a nice niche in the market... an extreme niche. Its highly competitive and the barriers to entry are more harsh than one might assume. If you don't have enough rep' people aren't going to put trust into your network... you'll NEVER profit unless you grasp the market as a whole and centralize your idea into key demographics. Although google, yahoo!, msn.. all are big in the ad network sector they did start small once... Google built a search engine that became viral... yahoo! had a search engine also. However, its instant messaging technology and email client is what pushed it into the extreme. MSN has obviously Microsoft Windows which gave it an auto rep' of trust and with their once popular hotmail application and currently popular operating system platform.. their $50 Billion + non-profit organization... they started decades ago when Bill Gates purchased the rights of an operating system from a guy messing around with electronics for around $25,000-$50,000.. they all started somewhere. Yet, none of the directly started in the ad network market... Even though it might not seem so, this market sector is extremely competitive to a spectacular degree! Find a need before you introduce a product. Otherwise you'll have an expensive idea with no demand. You can't start an engine without fuel. Money can buy fuel to drive your engine. However, if no one wants to buy your engine you'll be left driving alone. 0_o

Speaking from experience I will say unless you have the budget, the dedication, the contacts and the drive to really make it happen then don't bother. If you are serious then start from the beginning... a solid business plan to justify what you are doing and to identify a need in the market, and go from there.

The problem with purchasing an off the shelf solution like phplemon is that it most likely won't fulfill your requirements and a custom solution is the only way to go. AdToll was designed and built from the ground up.. it took me a solid year but in the end it was worth it. It doesnt stop there either... you need to keep up with market demands and continue to refine and evolve the product.
