I want to start a website for building custom computers.

I want people to be able to go to my site.

Click a link to build a custom computer.

I want drop down boxes with all the parts.

When the part is selected, in a text box, I want the description of the product and the price, I also want a picture of the product.

I want it all to be aligned and easy to see.

I want it to use some kind of data base where all I have to do is put in the product, price, and description and it automatically adds it to the dropdown of the category.

    Congratulations?

Not sure what your actual question is here?

Will need to be ajax based if it is going to have any level of decency for usability and if you have issues of only certain parts compatibility with each other

    Sorry, yes I need programming.

And yes I will make sure everything is compatible with the motherboard, they will choose the motherboard first, then it will show all the products compatible with the motherboard.

I am sure there are lots on here who can produce this sort of site (ourselves included) it may be worth while either contacting a few members directly or posting a project request in the classified section.

Oscommerce has a module for customising items including cross compatibility between items selected?

Hi Guys! Do check the site and you'll see that OS Commerce is very customizable, they even have a forum where they will teach you what to do. They have different modules which you will just install depending on your preference. Check this out www.filregalo.com made from ZenCart/OS Commerce. Hope this helps. God bless.

***Yes you can add a module for customizing and cross compatibility of products and more. :)
