Hello Im new to directories . I want to creat a new directory , But i heard bad news about it last time especially with the last changes of google which try to downgrade the value of directories . Instead of that I want to laun a new directeory , so i need your help . and experience and how to attract visitors.. If there are any Tips please you can help me please thank you all
it is a good time in as much as you can see what other directories have done wrong lately and try to avoid doing the same these mistakes would save you time and money so good to pay attention as for tips a few if you are starting from scratch.. decide to be either free or paid before you start..dont change dont use adsense on a directory as its a waste of time dont put any links on your homepage pointing to other sites unless they have nofollow (see learning by others mistakes) dont expect any revenue until a year as the small amount you will receive will need to be reinvested build links not just by directory submissions, try to get links on niche sites that are pointing back to your niche categories make sure you use mod rewrite from the start try to have unique categories write unique descriptions for every site you approve and submit submit quality sites yourself in areas where it would be rare for people to submit sites..educational, organisations, resources etc think carefully about your category structure and if you HAVE to change any categories at any point make sure you redirect via htaccess use a .com domain dont use a dropped domain dont start a bidding directory theres many more but thatll get you started oh and good luck
If you pick a good niche for the directory, and build links the right way ( not to fast) it will be oke to start one.
Yes you are right . Most users try to build fast links back by purshassing txt links ..and this is a big mistake ... WTB what is the ideal way to get a honorable PR with respectables methodes ????
submit by hand to good directories out there. take your time to get listed in the best category for your site. and do it in a normal submission rate. work your way down from the high pr sites out there.
Agree! You need to go with a tight niched directory and promote within that niche. General directories are way too common these days and are very hard to get off the ground. GO NICHE! It would be extremely beneficial if you know something about the niche as well and or have a interest in the subject.
