Hi everyone, I am based in Sydney. I would like to start a Sydney based business, but I want everything to be web based. This means the business/product, ordering and payments, support, etc. I haven't decided whether it's going to be a physical product or something that will be delivered electronically (eBook, etc). What I'm really wondering right now is, can it work? I have a good idea about how I'm going to go about promoting this business. I have money to invest. I'm just not sure if it'll work out.. having everything web based. Do you think receiving payments would be a problem? What other problems/issues do you think I need to think about aswell? For payments, I would probably accept payments via PayPal or through a merchant account. Sydney is a big city, but I'm really not too sure if many people here use PayPal. I guess I could also take payments via direct deposit. Maybe on the order form, I can have a direct deposit option which would, upon ordering, give the customer my bank details and payment instructions. Any opinions and advice would be greatly appreciated. Especially if you're based in Sydney, I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
It can be done coz sydney is a big city with many savvy user. Its best if you can sell some tech related item. You can accept CC coz majority people have CC. Don't accept it via PP coz the fee is too high.
I think there are alot of people in Sydney and Australia in general that use Paypal, I'm from brisbane and basically everyone I know has a paypal account. It is also a quick and easy option for people to pay with so I would definately include it in your development. What specifically were you looking at selling, I'd be interested to hear more about this, please Pm me.
I've throught about this in the past about doing local online advertising but I have put it off till now it means long days and cold calling all the time building local traffic which is expensive.
