The title says it all. I want to start a case study thread in forum Google, where in three months time I am going to build a site from scratch to produce $50 a day. I am not sure if posting a thread like that is allowed or not. Last thing I want to do is offend mods and getting banned.

I guess there is no problem in doing that until it is not a scam.
why not you create a ebook with your idea and also include your case study and give a copy of review to DP members..

Nope.. It will be just plain good ole style of building site - Nothing selling and stuff.
The good thing with case study is you keep on getting inputs of others that keeps on shaping up your strategy as well.

Thread does not belong in the Google forum.

    Description of Google forum:

This is for discussion about Google as a company, not for discussion of individual sites (SEO, PageRank for a site or "why a site ranks where it does" questions) or Google search results.

Categorization skills are not my strong point. Possibly the review section, either websites or SEO, depending on the slant of your experiment.

Interesting as I see them closed quite often. Maybe it's the scam ones that get closed.

if your intention to make a journal thread i have seen alot of those threads are closed and the mods told the authors this is not a blog

because you have to bump your thread every period of time and one you have made the first bump your thread will be closed

Good point. However I guess as long as I don't bump my post with un-necessary posts, mods should not have any issue. Yes it may be blog style as it will have updates every period of time, but those updates will be genuine ones. Also after reading the comments, I am thinking maybe General Forum is the best place to start it.

Why don't you start your journal on your own site and make detailed report regarding lessons learned after experiment is over. Link to your journal of experiment in your signature.

Shannon, I think journals are great additions to the forum. An honest journal is countless times more useful than a majority of E-books sold here. Why does DP frown upon them? :(

If I start the journal on DP, I get huge feedback of the community, at the same time it will help community. If I start it at my blog, only a very tiny percentage of people will ever visit my blog and out of those only very miniscule care to leave the comment. Besides blog will be more like me preaching others. I will start my post with a clear idea, but of course based upon the feedback / ideas received here, the strategy will be improved.

Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Google (as a company), so the Google forum would NOT be the right place.
