I want to run a tips site for freeware or other software. i like lifehacker, full of good writing. but it not focus on freeware. so how can i compete with them if i focus on freeware? What i mean is if someone want to find some good freeware tips then they go to my site first , not lifehacker. How many writers i need to start? how much money need to invest? PS, if you know some good writer for software, plz introduce to me.
That's an excellent idea. You shouldn't try to compete directly with LifeHacker though since your niche is different. You are talking about software and LifeHacker is more of a do it yourself site. However, you can still take the things you like about LifeHacker and put them to use for your site. You should definitely do some brainstorming about this site. You need a brand-able domain name. You need to find out what platform you want to run the site on. You are going to need a lot of knowledge including design and writing. If you don't design or write yourself, then you will want to hire someone to help you with these things. How much you will need to invest depends on how big you want to go with your site and how fast...just some things to think about. It really is a good idea and I wish you the best of luck.
