I want to rank number 1 for a non competitive term

What are the steps? I shouldn't say it is non-competitive but not vary. It is less difficult than other terms I have been able to achieve the number one spot for. It is the site that is last in my signature. I would appreciate your help. We have been working feverishly trying to get to the top. No such luck. The site has been around forever.

Let me know of your opinions on what we should do...

What keywords / keyphrases are you targeting (for number 1 that you want) ?

The site has been on from 1999 and has no alexa ranking....strange.

You are telling me. Basically, we would like to rank for the term Abbotsford Real Estate. That is it. I mean, obviously, the more the merrier. I cannot figure this site out. It has good internal page rank. Many are better than the home page. It is good information, better than the comp. We pay AdWords out the ying yang, yet we have no Alexa rank...

i wouldn't call it non-competitive as you have the most overused keyword of all times Real Estate. The only non competetive one is Abbotsford which also bring some results in SE.

yep any high ranking site on "Real Estate" having non compitive word "Abbotsford" any where on page would be overtaking your ranking position. e.g. no 3,4,5,6 etc ranking sites.
while no1 is local directory for Abbotsford having "real estate" section. Seaech Engins will always give preference to local resources.
PR does not have much role in rankings. you will see many site having low PR than you are listed higher than yours.

try to optimise on specific word "Abbotsford Real Estate". add this into your meta tags, description etc. (you have it in one of keyword term but its not exclusive term, make it exclusive) try few sumitting aricles sending link back to your site with this term, and few backlinks on this keyword. i am sure you will get top rank with some inpage optimisation and off-page articles / backlink developemt.
    all the best ! :)

One thing that perhaps helps is that you can make some little changes on the indexpage lets say 2 - 3 time a week so that the spiders are getting busy with it. - Have you neglected content updates? - that could mean being put into a garage sometimes. Searching your site using your prefered keywords and click them from the searchengines may help too.

Submit manualy to Alexa, that's what I did and my rankings shot to 200000 for a brand new site in no time using their (spying)toolbar for a while.;)
