I already know how to use programs such as Photoshop CS3, flash, BlogDesk and programming languages such as HTML and a bit of CSS. My aim is to make a great looking Blogging-Site,but i'm sure that i have to know a bit more stuff before buying a domain name,getting a host and jumping to WordPress... Can any of you kindly give me some tips on what else i need to know? Thanks in Advance
Depends on what you want to do. Are you looking to design your own theme? This can be a long and arduous process, and you'll need proper coding skills to make the result transitional. If you're just wanting a personal blog, it's probably best to just find a good theme for WordPress, and get to blogging immediately. If you'd rather make a bit of money, get Google AdSense (Google.com/AdSense) and put it on your blog. Then get a few backlinks so you can appear in Google for any keywords you'd like to target. Knowing PHP, HTML and CSS will help you customize your wordpress site and are essential(especially the PHP) if you want to create your own plugins.
Just one more thing - HTML and CSS are NOT programming languages w3schools is a great place to start, but i'd recommend buying some books from the store. Try some examples, edit their code experiment.
