Hi, I want to start an affiliate contest. Which mean, the first person to reach sales goals is the winner.
But, I have no idea, how DPers is reflecting on such contest.
Besides, I'm newbie (in the manner of post number, i Trader), would it effect the contest ?

Your brilliant opinion is highly appreciated
PS:I'm thinking on offering $1000 for first runner :)

    Thank you in advance
    -your humble friends

its probably the same here on the dp than anywere else on the net

if it is easy and simple for people to do which takes not much thought tan it will work

it has to be easy and simple for people to do it because we are all lazy and want what is easy

I would advise that with a prize as big as $1000, you should try and build up your reputation here first. Build up your post count (dont spam), get some rep points, but most importantly get more iTrader. $1000 is a lot of money, and if you don't have a strong reputation here on DP then people might think you're a scammer. I'm not saying everyone here with low iTrader scams, but people will feel a lot more comfortable entering this contest if you have more iTrader and have been a member for a reasonable amount of time. Anyway, good luck!

That not a new idea though.
I had run this last years and at the beginning its not quite attractive with first prize $2000 .
But after i increase it to $5000, many people started to join the contest.
IMO,you need help from a reputed member to backing you up.
Coz nobody will trust a newbies

Run a smaller contest with smaller prize first. Start small.

The contest is 99% likely to increase sales, as there will be people trying extra hard to get the money awarded at the end. Competition is never a bad thing in these cases, as nobody wants to lost.

I think the previous suggestion of starting small is a good one. Offer $100 for the first contest, then $300, then $1000. This way people will know that you're trustworthy as you've already proved you're reliable to pay the true winner their deserved money.
