hi all I have decided that i want to make a huge money generating website by using adsense and selling ad space. I no that this will not be easy, but i am a work horse... maybe a social/dating or something maybe even a new whateverlife.com lol.. can anyone tell me how big of a task this will be? also if i want to build one myself what software do you reccomened for a project like this.. I have made basic sites using x-site pro. any help would be great thanks.

First of all, set your niche. Get yourself a brandable or keyword rich domain. It takes times and never ending effort to achieve steady income from adsense and others. You can google for 'social dating network software' if you plan on doing that project. Good luck.
Don't ever start a website for the money. If you expect to make money from it then you never will. You should make a site because you enjoy making content related to the subject, you have to really love what you do or else you'll fail. Do you have any real hobbies or are you really good at something? If so make a site about it. Sites can only be a success if you have unique and useful information/content.
That's great advice. It seems all the people that make the most do so almost as if it was an accident. The built on their passion and the passion turned into profit. Hard to profit into passion.
Adsense and selling ad space on a website is not profitable unless your have a really popluar, established website. If you believe you can make you website really big and make it become established then go for it.
Well, it all depends on what sort of site you have in mind. My site (I own 65% of it, investors took the rest), that is not even online yet has around 100k pages and will be an overnight success (atleast i think it will be). First i had to plan it all out, even my investors dont know all my ideas (Never reveal too much), this took me 3 years. Then to put all into reality, i had to get some investors and thats the hard part. After you have a great idea, get someone to invest in it, without telling too much and off you go. This is simply not true, you can make loads of money even if you hate the site you are developing. Putting up a hobby site can make you a nice 1k a month or maybe more, but putting up something unique can make you very rich. Hobby sites are for amateurs and money making sites are for pros. The only difference is that you need some real business experience to make it happen, if you are 14 year old then maybe hobby site is good idea. you know everyone here wants to start a HUGE site which brings in LOTS of dollarss... it isn't easy and it won't happen in a day or in a month. Stay here on DP, see what people are doing, talk to them, ask questions, request suggestions, take the first step, make mistakes, and PLEASE do not stop if you fail. Believe me, every site admin fails atleast 5 times before he/she gets into the pace..
well if your niche is unique enought, its easier but not too easy. you will need a lot of cash / time and effort to make a huge site. an unique idea is essential these days
but isn't DP about sharing? if you share you get more suggestions and that is when you improve. You know others can see your negative points very easily and you won't ever see them.
To profit from adsenese, you need a lot of traffic, witch is harder then generate smaller amounts of targeted traffic and offer affiliate products(like cb of amazon or anything else) Adult content, dating, gambling and celebrity sites are popular. The software depends on what tipe of site you are making...
