Dear Littile John Very good for beginners www.w3schools.com/HTML/ Hope that it will help you. Regards Tehmina
When you first start coding HTML, it could be helpful to do it in a program were you can preview the result of your code. good luck
I don't know where you live, but I would recommend going to your local used book store...the ones around me normally have a pretty good selection of books available for like $3 each. I prefer to have hard copies any involved reading, and printer ink is expensive Go there, I would recommend finding a book/books covering html, xhtml, and css for starters. Get something as recent as possible, it's better to learn standard compliant code from the beginning rather than later.
I would advise first checking out www.w3schools.com first, and then use Notepad++ to write all your code. Do everything by hand at first so that you can learn what you are doing, then step up to a program like Dreamweaver that will write most of the boring code bits for you and really let you focus on style and content. Use Google a lot. Look for HTML Tutorials.
eBooks are a waste of time, there are plenty of free tutorials out there. Plus, with HTML you can read all you want, but it's really the practice that makes you good. Try getting a hold of a copy of Dreamweaver... that's the best tool to practice with IMO.
One of the neat things about W3Schools is their little "Try It Now" editor that previews your live HTML code examples so you can see how it works. Short of that, you can start right away with Notepad and Internet Explorer.
Try http [colon] //websedge [dot] googlepages [dot] com for a very basic start to HTML plus a simple HTML generator
I am going to the used book store this weekend. I have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS, but nothing in depth. Are there any suggested books, that I can use in addition to the w3c school tutorials, for the following: 1. HTML 2. CSS 3. Javascript or flash 4. php The first two are obviously the most critical, the latter are simply so I can begin working with some scripting language and have heard that those are good places to start. If I'm wrong, please let me know. I've been through the other threads asking similar questions, but many of the titles seem a bit dated, so I thought I'd ask just in case there is something more up to date.
w3school is very good for beginners, but better yet a book on paper from O'Really... when it comes to programming that's about as good as it gets
