I want to know if we can have blog login

I wish a blog to be open to only selected persons who know a particular username and password......... can it be done..

the login i am asking is not for adding the content but to view the blog........

Wordpress has this ability. You just make the posts private

Well, people that are logged in would be able to see it

 

I've seen it where the post is password-protected, so the user just enters the password for the post.

 

There's a plugin out there that lets you turn a wordpress blog into a members-only site. I can't remember the name though.

In that case, I don't know what you're looking for. It sounded like making your blog a members-only site (which would require a username and password to view, like you said) is what you wanted, and that's what WPB-PayPal v2.0 does...

 

hey hey.. i am not looking for any proffessional member only blog site.. i jst wish to have my blog and just want my few mates to peep into it and read at most..nobody else.. so what is solution to this query..!!!

In that case, when you are writing an entry, look to the right where it says "Password-Protect Post" and type in a password that only your friends know.
