I recently started a prep course for CNA's and HHA's all online, and well I started about a month ago. I have thought if as many keywords as I can think of to put in the box, but even when I google the for words that are in my domain name. My website is no where to be seen. Far be it for to say that google is wrong, but if I google "accredited nursing courses online" I would hope that "www.accreditednursingcoursesonline.com" would at least be somewhere on the first page. My x business partner runs two websites and bot of his show up on the first page. and we even have similar content. Basically what I am asking is this. What do I need to do in order to make the website above show up, when people at least google the words in my domain. I get 100+ visitors a day, yes a day, but thats only because I know some tricks of the trade. Adsense is plentiful, but I want to get more direct traffic. All of it is from referrals. And I wanna get on the map so to speak. I guess just click on the site above to go to the homepage. Its my first site, please tell me everything you dont like about it, and please give your advice. Thanks in advance

    Is this a new site?
After a quick glance here are a couple of my thoughts:
Google shows over 9 million results for the 'accredited nursing courses online' keyword so it is fairly competitive.
Using the link command in Google I see no backlinks for your site. I would work on getting some links to your site
There is relatively little content on the site, so I would work on writing more unique content for the site, particularly if what you have is similar to other sites (you mentioned that your business partner runs a site with similar content so I would change my site to have different content than that one).

This is not the most competitive keyword, but it is competitive enough to where you need to get some backlinks and have more content to rank. Just throwing up a few pages and having the key phrase in the domain may not be enough for you to rank. Also, if it is a new site it may take a little while before Google gains trust in it, so be patient and use this time to build up your site and get some links to it.

Yes it takes time and you have to build backlinks in order to rank. You must also make sure your site has good on site optimization. That means all you meta tags, description tags, alt tags have to be in order. You also have to have good internal linking, but most important of all is quality backlinks.

After looking at your site further, it looks like you do need some onsite seo work done in addition to backlinks.
