I completely agree with bigrollerdave. If you are striving to be a jack of all trades, make sure you are also an expert in each of them. Knowing little bits of a 100 things isn't half as useful as knowing something in detail.

And more importantly a specific Niche that no-one has entered yet, i.e. there is no competition for it! If you have an idea first google it and see what the competiton is like!

You've obviously never read "The Millionaire Next Door", an indepth study of millionaires in America written by a few PhDs.

Most millionaires got there working for other people.

Now if you want to get rich fast, you won't do that working for someone else.

You're right, I haven't (but I have read "The Millionaire Mind" by the same author and was meaning to read that one next ;))

I don't see anyone getting super rich working for other people. Not that many jobs pay $100k a year, but if you do get one and you work for 50 years, you've made 5 million (and much more than that for the person that you're working for, surely). I don't think that's very impressive.

Heh, I think you guys are talking about the difference between being a "Millionaire" and being "Independently Wealthy". A million bucks can be had by nearly any white collar individual with 15-20 years of hard work, smart investing, and careful planning.

I think most online affiliate marketers desire the title "Independently Wealthy". ;) The thing is - if you work for someone else - can you make the time to also build your online marketing empire in your spare time?

    Cheers,

I've just finished watching the movie called "The Secret" and what you guys forgot to mention is that wealth is a state of mind! You attract what you focus on!

So right now you are focusing on "not having enough" and you are going to attract that! Focus on what you really want and you will attract that! It doesn't matter what kind of business you are getting into and how much money it can potentially produce for you...

if you don't have the faith, confidence, perserverance, and balls to go through with it...it will be difficult for you to be rich (unless you are lucky and win the lottery).

So snap out of it and stop whining. If what you are doing right now isn't working, get out there and do something about it damn it!

    With respect,
    Alan

My brain hurts from trying to come up with something unique.. soo I've managed to make some extra cash buying scripts and marketing.. someday I figured my "bright" idea will come along, in the mean time, I make enough to pay for the hobby :)

I want to be righ too. But I am still not there. Keep up the hope. Work hard. If it is meant to be, you'll be rich. If you don't become rich, at least, you'll know you've given it your best.

Just another note, some people (like me) spend too much time on forums instead of actually doing something that would give some sort of returns.

Its always good to read up on forums and learn but at the same time, don't end up wasting your precious time reading pointless threads and posts.

Think logically. What do you do wrong? How do you fix the problem created? Who exactly is your competition?

If the competition is too big, you will fail. If you competition is too small, you aint trying hard enough.

Dont expect a million in a few years, create a site, keep it up a few years, make money from it, big bucks in the end, then sell it.

Myspace, youtube and some others are examples of what market you should try.

I spent 13hours in the last 2 weeks submitting flash.vg to directorys. I will probably spend that much again in the next 2 weeks,

maybe you should scan some 100 dollar bills and print them out. I earn millions doing that :) - If you use cheap ink you can eaven have a bigger profit...

    what a stupid thread title!
