Do a search on my name here at DP and you'll see a post I did on How to Buy and Sell websites for profit. The advice is for rehabilitating underperfoming existing web properties and selling them for a nice profit.

Problem is that many people here are working for next to nothing because they live in countries where next to nothing is more than their family normally makes in a year. Glory to them, but it kind of messes up the market ofcourse as this says nothing about quality.

[offtopic-rant]On RAC I often bid on projects of which I know that the skillset required is not that common and of which I also know that such a thing will take me X hours (and I am considered fast usually) to complete. 9 out of 10 times I get underbid by someone from a 'low wages' country. And 4 out of 10, they later (usually months later) mail me to ask if I want to do it anyway as 'it did not turn out'. And I am willing to bet that the other 5 don't turn out as well, but they are just cancelled.[/offtopic-rant] This relates to this thread; because you can find, for any job, someone who wants to do it for $5 here, work is worth *nothing* at all... Sorry.

Make your site fast, always up, nice and cool. Market it and get some buzz, profit and traffic. Then sell.

Disclaimer; yes, there are people selling turnkey and making a lot of profit, especially on SP. Those guys are marketeers and very good at what they do. You can go for that, but it takes a special kind of person to pull that off.

    Good luck.

I think with websites becoming so easy to make anymore to get up with just the basics that it isn't that profitable. But like said above it really depends on how much money you are looking to make at it. If $150 is a lot to you then it could be your niche but if you are looking for $2,500-$5,000 per website then I don't think this is the niche for you unless you are planning on development as well.

In my peronal experience, you can't sell them more than 20 bucks...without domain name and hosting, who wants to buy?
