yeah paypal will send their legal team after you looking for the money it will be a waste of your time to try and get them to sort it out they wont they are down $500 and they will want someone to pay and that my friend is you sux but thats just the way it is
Some of the people in this thread are incredibly stupid, while others are showing reasonable intelligence...
So, you mean to say a respected US service person would commit such a blatant scam, but will NOT leave any traces behind? May be you are right. Metaphyisict, Contact paypal team. If you can prove that, you have delivered the goods and the charge back was unfair, they might help you.
Interesting, yet controversial. I've never seen 'Paypal' and 'help' written in the same sentence before. Well, I have, I mean everyone's had the emails asking yourself to 'help my uncle bob buy a new tv in Nigera, he wants to pay by paypal. Please can you send me your cc details?' At the end of the day Paypal or it's Daddy-o eBay won't help you, regardless of the situation, if you're in dispute with them no matter what you are always wrong. I've never seen a case of somebody actually winning against Paypal, or even receiving an apology.
I sold a coupon on ebay worth $200.00 Buyer sends it back the day it expired. I told paypal this and they still took my money. eBay member gets a nasty feedback. case closed.
PayPal isn't very helpful in situations like this. They have crappy customer support and don't care too much. But one thing you CAN'T do is blame this all on DP - this has nothing to do with them, and trying to put your problems off on someone else is just immature. But good luck, I really do hope you get your money back.
I just had the sale of one of my ebooks reversed for seemingly no reason, it's as if the guy just thought he'd try and get a refund and paypal just gave it to him without even asking me or knowing what the situation was, I really hate paypal but it's the only way to accept payment sometimes...
Happens to me all the time, I even tell them I have re-sent the ebook and they don't care. Paypal is to big to police, little competion so its far easier to just keep pressing the refund button. As far as paypal taking people to court, they need to be taken for theft, oh they are too big for that arent they....rsoles at times.
I had a situation like this, a business associate sent me money for services rendered, in this case $900. He didn't request a refund or anything but since he happened to use my computer to send it paypal decided to reverse it AFTER I had already pulled the money out. Payal then proceeded to pay themselves back by emptying my bank account. We eventually fixed the situation after several weeks of phone calls, and the ONLY reason that happened was because I finally got myself transfered to one of paypal's top executives. The customer service people won't do much, you can try forever, trust me. You need to try and go way above their heads and make a stink. Good luck!
I've heard some people who abandoned their paypal a/c when this kinda thing happens, and never been pursued by paypal. But the risks are there, i say. That's what i'm always worried about with doing business online. But i still love the anonymity of it sometimes.
let me tell you a true story: i had a paypal account when i was young and stupid. i sold some stuff on ebay, then realized that paypal lets you go negative, by writing e-checks or something like that. so i closed my bank account out, and maxed out the paypal account, went to like -$550. paypal closed my account, and i haven't heard from them since. this is my personal experience, and i don't think they'll do anything to you. take the money and run man.
