I am planning to buy a website with full content and i am paying a good amount. I was wondering how everyone would go about dealing with the payment. I have heard that www.escrow.com is 1 possibility. But i would like to have other options. Anyone have another idea or method? thanks
you can always meet the person in question if he doesn't live to far ... If not you can find a honest person who will be an intermediate person, you pay him and he pays the webmaster when you have received the site!
escrow.com meet in person PayPal if the $$ amount is low and you trust the seller Bank Wire, don't do it without a letter of credit or contract in place Western Union, never
Well I guess technically it is, because most people don't take percautions... BUT, I like to believe that most people are generally good and as long as the amounts are relatively small, I just go on the trust/honour system. If I get ripped off, I will make a LOT of noise about it and make sure that everyone knows about it and maybe prevent it from happening again. I'm proud to say that so far at this forum I haven't had any problems whatsoever. If you take the steps to prevent getting ripped off, you'll be fine. Escrow, letter of credit from your bank or meet in person and draw up a contract... that's safe.
I would strongly recommend monikers escrow service. Much safer than escrow.com when dealing with domains and websites as they are a registrar and the ervice is developed for domains.
