The best thing you can do to learn, is to surf this forum and forums like it, as well as the various webmastering blogs and tutorial sites available on the web. Browsing this forum will lead you to links for other webmaster forums, as well as other sites that will help you educate yourself on creating a website, and making money with it.

Avoid any get rich quick schemes you may find advertised on these forums. If any of these people actually had such a scheme available, they would be insane to tell anyone else about it.

Avoid blackhat/greyhat (unscrupulous, illegal, and immoral) methods of making money on the web. You'll get further by creating real value than you will by defrauding people.

The best thing you can do is to build a website about something you have an interest in. You can make money off pretty much anything. Worry about making money off the site later on. Concentrate on building value for the site in the shorter term, by adding quality, original content to the site, and by building quality, relevant backlinks to the site.

the best thing is go for a free blog... at wordpress

    select your niche
    write content
    add content

then come back here in this forum and ask questions..you will win

and without working you are looking for money...

first establish a site. so that it has decent traffic....
if you have any expertise then you can also sell you services here.

I agree. Setting up a free blog at Wordpress.com or Blogger.com is probably the best place to start.

Pick a subject that interest you, and start blogging about it. Educate yourself on the subject to ensure that your posts are informative. Worry about monetizing the site later.

And continue to surf this forum and others like it to learn how to get visitors to the site. Your first priority to begin with should be to get blog post content up on the site, though.

If you don't have any money to invest in a .com/.org/.net domain, then use a free webhost at first. Or a Blogger. Then pick a niche, work on content for the niche, monetize it, get daily backlinks for traffic and SERPs, and you're all set. ;)

Something that's probably worth mentioning is that Wordpress.com and some other free blog hosts don't like you putting advertisements on your blog. It's probably better to go with Blogger.com , as it's run by Google, and they love you putting their Adsense ads on Blogger blogs. You can set up Adsense ads on blogger blogs with a few clicks - no need to muck around with embedding code.

It takes a lot of hard work and effort to make a successful site. If you don't have the time to learn the basics of building a website and reading through the forums on how to market it, then you should just stick with an hourly job because you will never be successful running your own website.

@mjewel He is here to get some encouragement.. . Your comments certainly dont do that.. As far as blogging is concerned, well you dont have to be a master at it to earn from it. Although dont expect blogging to replace your day job unless you are very much serious about investing time and money into blogging. Besides if you need any help you can approach me anytime.

DP has all the information you need to create a successful site - it is just going to take a lot of reading. If anyone takes the time to spend a few days reading the board and then has specific questions, then they should certainly ask.

This guy is just padding his post count with stupid questions and answers. He earlier posted about making comments to increase google crawl rate and how there is no automated software for ranking in google. Either he knows nothing and shouldn't be posting about SEO, or only his username is new.

@mjewel Maybe you are right. If he was serious about the question he asked, he would certainly have replied to the comments posted here.
