I currently have a site for inmates looking for pen pals located at inmate-connection dot com and I want to add a blog. My hosting company comes with Fantastico built into the control panel. Does my blog have to be related to my site? I want to blog about health and fitness, exercise, weight training and proper diet. I also would like to know more about link-building. I do not currently have a marketing company specifically promoting my business but I have advertising campaigns with Yahoo and Google. I started my business 6 years ago. Is a blog supposed to be interactive? Are my visitors expected to post on my blog or can they just email me questions and comments?
from your domain name, you can add something like inmate-connection/health or yourdomain.com/sports. since you have fantastico, installation of the blog will be done in 10 seconds. everything is already provided for you. thanks to wordpress. you can also build a subdomain from your maindomain.com. let's say health.inmate-connection.com. install wordpress in your subdomain.
Its pretty easy to create a blog under your website. If you need help, let me know. Or use the CC plugin and you can add content to your blog in minutes. -Richard
Just create a sub-domain or directory named blog at your root domain and install wordpress and your blog is ready to go....as easy as that ! Regards, RightMan
its easy to install a wordpress script for your blog . just login in your cpanel click on Fantastico and then wordpress after that click on install ,enter desired info need at the time of installation and click on finish ... " done" start bloggin in your blog ..
OK...If I install Fantastico and Wordpress from the control panel, don't I have to add a new menu button to my site and a page for the blog? I can add the page but as simple as this may be, I need instructions to make the button. Am I expected to have user questions, interaction and feedback on my blog? Thanks.
If your new blog has nothing to do with the website, I would put it on a brand new domain. It is a separate business, you should treat it like one.
