Wow! That would be great, I somewhere read that the .tv tld rights sold for $50M or something like that .TV is one of the greatest tld out there right now.
I think that it would be possible to buy the .tt tld but it will cost you some millions $ and other legal stuff, agreements e.t.c.

ICANN have just changed the rulings on this subject, whereby you are now allowed to register youdomain.ANYTHINGYOUWANT, which is quite awesome. However, you would have to give them a good reason for them to allow you to use that extension, plus it would cost a few $100k.

However, the .tt extension currently belongs to Trinidad and Tobago, much like how .co.uk belongs to the UK, which means that ICANN would probably never let you have this domain extension, sorry! :(

Doubtful that Trinidad and Tobago will sell it to you, since it is their CCTLD. Have you ever attempted to purchase anything from a country before?
I suspect if you had that kind of coin that you would be speaking with a team of attorneys, and not us :)

I don't think the OP actually wants exclusive rights to the .tt TLD...if so he is quite foolish. I believe he simply wants to try to become a registrar who could conduct .tt registrations for some reason.

Of course, I could be mistaken...something was clearly lost in the translation.

Because .ttis already a TLD with Trinadad & Tobago you will need to contact their Net-Registry and work out an agreement.. thats what godaddy did with the .me TLD...

but expect to have alot of money in licensing fees.. unless they give it to you on a rev share arrangement..

enough to bribe enough icann officials into letting you have the tld you want plus over 100k in fees. unless youve got a proven track record of boatloads of money i dont think you stand a chance at coming close to acquiring your own TLD once the infrastructure and process for introducing new tlds is ready.
