I want to have one section in a vbulletinforum where the threads goes on the firstpage. So it looks like a blog on the first page but in reality is just threads in a section where ONLY I can add threads. Users/guests should however be able to comment the threads. Is there any such scripts?
maybe there is some mods for vbulletin about that. i'm not quite sure. but there is some mods for phpbb.
There is an interesting thread on the issue in the support forum for Nucleus. The thread is: http://forum.nucleuscms.org/viewtopic.php?t=5850&highlight=phpbb The user integrated Nucleus, which is a blog CMS, with PHPbb, with a single login for both systems. Nucleus has a plugin which eases the process.
Drupal is horrible - I'll never work with it again. Ever. Your best bet is to install wp on the index of the site, and the forum in a subdirectory. My site (oweb.co.uk) uses that format and it integrates pretty well.
SEbasic...how horrible is Drupal...I just testing Drupal in my site...but still not finish the study yet...may be u can share your experience.
Dont get me wrong - some people like it. But I really didn't. The templating system is clunky and difficult to work with. You can't generate user-friendly URL's without doing a lot of messing a lot of messing around. There are other things, but mainly I just don't think it's a particularly good system.
Obviously as im a HUGE Joomla Supporter and run one of the largest community sites, id say go with Joomla. Joomla Integrates with VB and there are some great mods available to do exactly what you are after
MkPortal has a nice integrated blog feature, you can change permissions to where only you can make blog entries, and visitors can comment on your blog. You can set it up where it wraps around your forum or separate page entirely. http://www.mkportal.it
hmm.. that is odd, but it will still support future versions of vBulletin I suppose and there's still TinyPortal, it has some similar features. I'm working a nice blend of PhpFox, SMF, and Mkportal now that uses the unique features of each to form an beautifully integrated article/site/forum/blog, still working a few bugs out with authentication but it shouldn't be much of a problem. On a side note Just-4-teens: You've got a nice site, you should show your forum within the portal, and use the "forum" theme option in MkPortal to blend it with your forum theme. The default mkportal skin is kinda cheesy looking. Just a suggestion.
I just read that on the SMF forum that this has changed. MKportal was going to launch their own forum, but decided against it. According to one of the SMF Moderators, MKportal should support all future SMF releases. I wish I had a link for you, but I can't seam to find it. Brandon
