Buying I Want American Writers!

    Hi Writers,

I am currently on the lookout for American writers who are confident in their ability. The main reason for this is because I have a fussy client and all articles are written for an American audience.

The pay rate is $5 per article (Rising to $6 per article in July). While this is not the best rate, I promise that there is a constant demand for articles and I am a polite person to work with. Payment is made weekly via paypal - upon completion.

Articles need to be error free and there is a minimum requirement of 20 a week.
Each article will be 500 words unless specified otherwise. Naturally, more will be paid for larger articles.

I am also looking for long term associations. If interested, please send some samples along with your daily capabilities via PM.

    Thanks,
    Antony.

Do you pay upfront, or upon completion?

    Hi,

Sorry I managed to forget that bit. Payment is made weekly upon completion via paypal. If a trust is formed over time then this can be re-negotiated.

    Regards,
    Antony.

What is the length of the article you want? I'm sure you're not going for something like 5 bucks for 1000 word article?

    Hi,

Each article is 500 words. There may be some articles on occasion which are special and need to to be 750, 1000, or 1500 words long but these are rare. In these circumstances the price per article will rise proportionately.

    Regards,
    Antony.

so you want a writer who will front you a week's worth of article on credit?
but you aren't responsible for approval, but some unseen "client"?
    this is a classic scam.
There should be a limit on no third party hiring in content creation.
if you don't have payment content approval you shouldn't be posting.

    My God,

There are some idiots out there. This is coming from a guy with a "-1" reputation. This is common practice for many content providers and its mainly put in place to prevent being scammed by people like you who obviously dont provide a satisfying service.

    Regards,
    Antony.

This is indeed common practice. In fact all my major clients pay that way, and have done so from the start. For the writer there is basically no risk when you think about it.

Lets for the sake of argument say I start writing for a client, deliver the articles, and after a week the client disappears. Because of the non payment I still hold all rights to the articles, so I could sell them, post them all over the web, plus if I encountered them online anywhere I could successfully file a copyright complaint with Google, and have the entire domain blacklisted.

In other words the articles would be worthless to the client that disappeared, but still valuable to me, as I can still sell them.

In short, no real risk to speak of. Now turn that around, and say a client pays me for a week's worth of articles, and I disappear. Now what? Claim with PayPal? Sure, that would work, but when you have done such a thing before and know what is involved, you will be far from happy I guarantee it.

Last, in case you would be worried about the end buyer rejecting the work, that is no argument. You are then basically saying that you have no confidence in your own abilities.

    My 2 cents(Per word?) :)

I just want to jump in here since amarventris decided to interrupt one of my threads with his rude comments.

Most of the clients that I work with pay the same way that AHayes183 does. In fact, outside of private clients, all of the content companies except one pays weekly or monthly. One, however, pays everyday. Don't bash someone and call them a scam when you should be really looking at your own feedback score. A feedback score of -1 is the only thing in this thread that screams "Scam!".
