Hi, I have heard that Myspace and Facebook can direct large amounts of traffic to your site. How does it work? Can I do this with apersonal account or is it done with accounts specifically made for the site? On average I get 30 unique users a day. Could this flood some hits even if it is just for a short time?
Easiest way to direct traffic with Myspace and Facebook, join groups then add friends saying that you just want to get to know people with similar interests. Put up articles as blog entires for a while. Then after a while, put a blog entry promoting your site.
Don't use a personal account to get traffic from MySpace. Create a new account specifically for your website. If you can customize the layout to where it's absolutely unique, then you'll get all the attention you want. I find that a unique layout that catches the eye gets people talking.
Make pen name/identity and make it knowledgable in that niche then you will become well respected, then 'release your site'. It takes time, it's not sudden and myspace can often be very untargeted.
I agree with the Sultan.. A spike wont do anything for the long term... Those 30 a day could prove a lot more valuable then a spike of 1000....
You don't need MySpace or some other social sites traffic. Believe me. What you need is to build a strong site and rank high in search engines for your keywords. That will bring a lot of targeted traffic which converts quite well.
All the three above posters are completely off topic. . . Say it isn't so? Anyway, good advice though. But sudden traffic can have a long term impact. I can write an article on it, but rather not follow the wrong. But I completely agree to that as well. Anyway, yes join groups.. Even better if those groups are country specific groups. Orkut can do the same for you as well lots of peeps here in dp is promoting pretty well in orkut. With a little greenie, you can take the short cut. Contact the alias aqnshosting of dp and tell him you want to advertise in orkut and that i recommended you. If he can, he will help ya out with much cheap a cost
No one really "needs" MySpace to market their website. However, if you can get 500-1000 visitors from MySpace each day, then it really does help your bottom line. It's not a "need", but it's a good "want".
