I wanna learn seo.i am a newbie.i want to know right from the basics..
i am looking for some online tutorials..Help me!
where can i find the one..and looking for some books too.

The best way to learn SEO is to read the seo section of this forum..there is ample amount of information available here.

 

i'd suggest not reading books , cause seo is changing frequently and new techniques and norms are intruduced with time. Most of the techniques that were used to gain PR and serp doesn't work anymore as the search engines chagne their alogorithm too.

So go through some good websites on SEO whcih update their content frequently and some seo forums.

semoz is really good I like the whiteboard friday "rand" and then you can also join searchengine forum or highranking forum and a few others out there.

You cant learn seo from books.
SEO comes by itself, after hard-working with websites. SEO is more like an internet experience.
So you better create a website and start experimenting on it.

 

Just read the forums and experiment for yourself, you can't understand what is written in an ebook until you have some kind of foundation to build you knowledge from.

SEO is just a piece of the puzzle.......

If you are wanting to learn it to market online then you really need to learn the fundamentals and basics of Internet Marketing first. That can be done in a number of ways ....ebooks.....memberships sites.............etc.

Learning in a group environment is very helpful.............trying to learn it on your own can be difficult to do. It's nice to have the encouragement of others as you are learning, plus you are able to share ideas and keep focused.

Just make sure whoever you learn it from knows their stuff

 

I say best thing don't waste your money spending 100's of dollars best thing to do is read various forums get a domain or two and test it on them. Remember SEO is all about patience, you don't end up scoring first page within a few days.

 

Searching for SEO tutorials on Google would definately help you out.

In every SEO forum like this, there is always a sticky thread all about the basic of SEO. Read it and learn from it. Then, step by step, gain more knowledge by reading other threads within the forums.

You can read ebooks, you can learn from Forums and SEO Tips from the different websites....If you are a starter in SEO you can do trial and error....So that you will know what tactics are effective until now and what is not...

 

many have said perform trail and error method ....

Hmm... you might want to pick up a good book on information architecture and HTML/CSS Web development then. Two I can recommend are "Information Architecture for the World Wide Web" from O'Reilly Media and "Build Your Own Web Site the Right Way Using HTML & CSS" by Ian Lloyd (published by SitePoint*).

best way to SEO is to study your analytics and read tons and tons of info.
