When I created my first website my intent was to make money. Ok.... It FAILED! I was thinking of a second website (a proxy). I Didn't do it but I figured, people start proxies to make money and so I couldn't do it a second time. Now, I know you make money by having it take time and effort. But I'm having trouble get the "make website to make money (using adsense)" mentality out of my mind.

I really don't want to blog. Can somehow tell me how they relinquished the "make websites to make money (using adsense)" mentality?

[I couldn't come up with a category, so I figured I could link it with adsense and it is about adsense so I'm safe.]

A good way to get out of that mentality is to realize that a lot of us who do websites with topics that we're passionate about are also making good money as well.

I actually make more money off of my one website (the topic is something I've been passionate about for over 20 years) than I would by working at a web design job.

Is it a side thing for you or full time? apart from wanting to make money do you have an understanding of how to promote a website?

Take comfort in knowing that some of the richest people out there fail a few times and still have their failiures over the years, each time your becoming a bit more experienced, you always learn from experiences and mistakes and i can assure you that im not finding it easy either but i stay positive.

Maybe the urge to make money is a good thing, but it can also work against you. The urge for money will drive you to accomplish goals while at the same time, if you aren't making money--you will be more likely to give up. I do not think it is a necessity however to change your mind frame.
