Depends on how often your site gets crawled. Which depends on several factors, principally age of site and number of backlinks. For a new site with very few backlinks - could take months. A busy popular, established site, could take 15 minutes.

Check your log files to see when Google crawled you last. The more popular your site the more frequent the crawls. And there is also the element of luck involved for new sites. You can force the issue by creating a Google Webmaster Account and submitting a new sitemap.

The only way I can think of to get a quicker update is to just keep working on getting good back links to your site.

I changed some recently. I didn't check every day, but I would say somewhere between 5-10 days also for google, yahoo, and msn/bing.

It depends how many links and the quality of the links will tell you how often your page gets re-indexed.

For a quicker reindex, try submitting a sitemap if you havent already submitted one. If you have already submitted a sitemap, then delete it and re-submit new sitemap again so it will have much higher chance of getting crawled again and in the process, include the new meta description, title, etc.

When your site will indexed by Google, it will displayed as you changed that. So wait for Google indexing.

this is complete fantasy, there's no way you can predict it how many days it will take, without knowing the history of the site, and when it was last crawled and cached.
