I tried everything, still not in Google TOP 10 ... What should I do?

    I have site www.volleycountry.com. My site is 6 years old, PR4. My primary keyword is volley. I have volley in site title, description, keywords, articles ...

    When I search google for "volley" my site is nowhere. What should I do to be in TOP 10? I know volley is kind of competitive keyword:) I am ready to do anything.

    Should I shorten my page title? Add more keywords? Increase keyword density?

    Thanks for help.

    Take out first 10 competitors results from google. Analysis their backlinks with help of backlink analyzer tool the Open site Explorer. Sort them by classifieds, directory, articles, Press release, forums and etc. Have a back link on that place. Like wise there are lot of methods you have to do for overcome the competitors

    Now, you forgot one important thing. You need to have relevant links to your blog if you need to rank high on Google. This can be obtained by article marketing, forum posting, commenting on related sites etc.

    If you need I will send you a detailed SEO analysis for your blog. I will provide you with analysis of your competition, your on site seo, suggestions to improve and so on. PM me for more!

    It shows that your competitors are stronger than you. Study first 10 website from your primary keyword and see what is different to your website. Check their backlinks and send request to all those webmasters to add your links too on their site.

    "volley" itself is a common keyword, follow steps to be on 1st page:

    1) Develop good title tag and include the keyword
    2) Develop good meta description tag and include the keyword
    3) Build back links with "volley" anchor text.

    It will take some time but it will work out for sure.

    hmm. as I can see your site have over 20K backlinks but I would say most of them from non related sites and many country.
    I have not check how many quality site you have as it will take about an hour to do it.

    as other said check the top 10 and find where they drop the backlinks. some time you will find gold from doing it.

    So, I would recommend you to start adding high quality backlinks such as article sites and press release.
    Make sure your anchor text with KW "volley" as about 60%-70% of over all back link.

    Also, make sure you haven't overdone onpage optimisation (if you trip a spam filter your site will be way down) and you have variety in anchor text links - when I experimented with article marketing a year or so ago I had too little variation and got penalised.

    @santacruz: in my (volleyball) niche there are not many "good" quality sites (and I contacted all of them). would it be good to try other sport related sites?

    I tried to buy "top domain" for my keyword, volley.com. the price $500 000 :-(((

    Quality back links are required. You also need to know where all your competition stands. How many back links do they have? What is their age? What is the traffic flow on their sites?

    To be able to hit page one on google you need to analyze your competition and get your site to be a better page that visitors want to see.

    You have everything on your side for a top (or at least high)-ranking site, just keep at it, analyze competitor sites in the top10 an aim to achieve what they have in terms of backlinks etc to move up.

    seo - title tag, meta keywoord, description, H1 headings, images with alt, sitemap,
    social - facebook page (like under every article), twitter (need to improve), youtube video with link (5 more than 200 000 views)

    Those are definitely a lot of things associated with On-Page SEO... Nicely done.

    Very nice site by the way.. You have a lot going on with it, but yet, very easy to navigate through... I like it.. Everything flows and matches each other nicely. But you are missing the most important key, right?

    TRAFFIC!

    Here are a few other things you should try... I'm just going to be bold and not go into much details about them. But, if you want more help or details, hit me up on Skype, MSN, or YM. Like I said, I would be very happy to help you out.

    * Article Marketing/Submissions
    * Press Release Submissions
    * Forum participation, like you are right now and put a link in your sig. This won't blow the roof off your website, but it helps.
    * Blog Commenting - if at all possible. And it doesn't have to be on the same subject as your site. Competitors are going to give you a link(most of the time) unless you're going to buy it form them, especially if they have a High PR. --- Look for a subject or niche that compliments your site.
    * Get yourself a twitter account, for link juice there.

    * It ultimately comes down to your own content - the quality of it, and the power of your backlinks.

    'volley' is a word of large extension, also with too much competitors, maybe you should focus more in detailed keywords and long tail keywords. And I don't think you have done everything coz the SEO is an endless work in my opinion, one website is not only one page, there are tons! And the popular keywords are too much, so...
