I'm finding widgetbucks slows down my site too. But have only had it on for a couple of weeks. Am going to give it a few months before I assess.

At least with widgetbucks you can control what's in the ad. The thing I hate about adsense is that they often put inappropriate ads on your blog. eg you write a piece about avoiding debt, and they put an ad on promoting some dubious lender.

Last year I saw a political blog discussing the lebanon situation seriously - and the adsense was promoting holidays in lebanon. As though people reading about war in lebanon would want to holiday there! No wonder the click rates on adsense are so low.

You can't really blame contextual advertising for situations like that. What would you prefer. Advertisers selling weapons of mass destruction?

We need better ad choosing as publishers. For example, on my site there are some pages about David Bowie albums... and AdSense puts a lot of ads for apartments in Bowie, MD. I add the sites to my "competitor" list but that's inefficient and incomplete. If I could just tell them "-apartments" and "- MD" it would be better.

No doubting there is room for improvement. Blocking URL's should go one step further and instead of being account based be site based.

I removed them a long time ago. They realy make my pages slow.
And those CPC rates look fine: $.45 per click, but the big question is: Do they pay??

OK and what if they do pay ? and in the future it's revealed that these high prices were an incentive to use them during the beta faze - and the publishers who stuck it and took the risk made the big dollars - before prices were/may be reduced .... what then ? You missed out because you didn't gamble ?

Wait a minute, you can put up WB and Adsense on the same page?? Isn't that violating Adsense TOS?

To followup the first post in this thread, the $.10 click has been unceremoniously reduced to $.02, making my income a total of $.08 for 3 weeks. That doesn't buy anything in any country.

I just got 3 click for 10,000 impressions total of $0.72. Now it not show up to date stats. "Impressions/Clicks reporting currently delayed." I will test WB for couple of days more. If no good outcome, surely I removed it.

Don't lie. WB is still new and they claim to pay 45 days after the end of the month you reached $50. I think WB started this month, so even if your friend made $50 till the end of October, he can't receive money until 15-th of December (IF they pay). :)
