I took WidgetBucks off of my site

In about 3 weeks, I had a total of two clicks out of about 3,000 impressions. One click was $.43, one was $.10. It made my pages slower but I tried to wait until I had some impressions and see how it stacked up vs. AdSense.

Just today, they took the $.43 click, which had gone from red to black days ago, and changed it to $.06. That was kind of the last straw. I bear no ill will toward them, but they didn't seem to work on my site.

I hope they make it more customizable in the future, and add some categories or let you include keywords. For now though I've replaced it.

I did get one referral, not sure what will become of that.

Just wanted to describe my experience for the benefit of others.

(FWIW, here's the WidgetBucks page -- see what you think of their categories and design. And yes, my referral code is in that link.)

I did not join site i want to see people get paid first. To take back that much on one click does not sound good to me.

I have 5 clicks from total 2000 impressions and revenue of $1.95. The clickrate is 0.22%. Too low, but the CPC is good. I am testing it in some of my other sites now.

It's good for people with big sites, like me, that got sick of adsense...

for low traffic, under 20.000page views daily...doesn't seem to be good!

Probably good for people with high traffic and lots of reading (eg. text content) on their pages. The time the visitor is reading will give the widgets time to load. Probably best to try and weave the widgets between the page elements too.

Well i think CTR also depends upon your site design... That how you had designed and prompted the user to click on it!!!

I had removed widget bucks from one of my sites 4 days ago, but not because the CTR, mainly because widgetbucks was playing smart with their publishers.

I just did not felt like going with a company that tries to do me so openly and yet to write stupid excuse for changing the code.

They seem to lag your page loading times, and they're pretty annoying (Seen them on quite a few sites)

I read that page, and the one it linked to about the hidden links, but I didn't really understand it. What are hidden links, and why would WB put them in?

I have signed up for widget bucks and right after I have placed the ads on my blog I Have removed them as I figured widget bucks is not very good and google might ban the users for having hidden link....

i also removed widget bucks from my blog. the ctr is really very low. It also takes time to load the widget. But keep promoting the referral program. WB is good for high traffic sites.

I removed them too. REALLY slow to load and their ads really do "suck"
Got about 10,000 impressions and 3 clicks... what a joke....
I'm still wondering if they'll pay people..
    We'll see!!

Well I am a positive WB user and have a CTR of 5% on some pages and targetted campaigns, not a bad Retrun on Investment either - my earnings rarely drop and if they do it's only 3-6 cents (the CPC), they removed the so called hidden link because of HYPE and it was their for visitors who don't have capabilities to see the widget - that simple. I am now waiting to see if I get my $170+ in mid december.

Gosh, they get you all excited offering high CPC, then take it away from you.

What a bloody joke... They looked shit to begin with. If you haven't got the advertiser base the same size as Google you can't compete.

Yeah the high CPM is also deceiving - it's based on widget impressions - not page impressions as 25% of visitors will leave or navigate site before widget loads, but I am giving it a chance. Will be interesting to see the overall monthly total now.

Were you banned from Adsense, or just looking for an alternative?

Just testing the waters, I have ADsense on same pages as WB - I give both a fair chance (by placing them in best spots), atm WB is converting better though.

Will see how I go now though as the new month begins, maybe they will audit some sites and conversions .... so who knows.

I am steering clear of all the hype and seeing if things work for myself.

I only have it on one site that I am promoting, so I am not relying entirely on WB for an income.
