i don't think it is because how many people out of all of your visitors would do that??
plus right when a visitor see's "advertise" they skip over it.

I hope this is available to Canadian customers soon... I would like to test this theory. ...It could bring a whole new meaning to "Sponsored Links" on all of those directories out there.

I took it off about a week ago and I think it took about 2 days before I didn't see it anymore. There hasn't been a signifigant increase in CTR but it's less clutter on the site so I like it.

It doesn't matter if they skip over the ad if its site targeted because you get paid if they click or not. When you have two or three sites site targeting you can make good cash if you have high page impressions.

Again best to experiment for yourselves.

Same here. No change at all. I think any increase you see is purely coincidental.

You can remove the advertise on this site option from canadian sites. I did it some time ago. It seems to have helped and it has less clutter. I have the ads labeled "sponsored links". Looks like CTR has gone up on pages where i removed the above option, blended the ad blocks and labeled all "sponsored links" in matching colors to my <h1><h2> etc titles but gave them normal type. I know for certain the look and feel of has improved and there are more clicks as a result of the above tweaks combined. However the removal IMO really helped.

I removed the option today...I'll check the results and post its performance.

I am willing to experiment but it still makes me wonder why that would be a hinderance to users. If the users are smart enough to avoid ads cos of "Advertise in the site", they may as well avoid it after seeing "Ads by Google"...

My clicks have been up by 10% the last few days after removing it, maybe return visitors notice the change in the way the adds look and are more apt to click in which case if you don't have 'advertise on this site' now, it may help to put it on. Also might be a good thing to add and remove it periodically.

In the first full day without it on my ads, my impressions have doubled. Although my site is very new and growing by the day, I can't complain.

Obviously there is no connection between that label and the impressions you can have.

Its not going to have any impact on your impressions. Its a question of whether your CTR goes up.

On the pages that I made no other ajustments on,

    CTR did climb after removal.

That may due to the fact that my visitors were more comfortable,

then again isn't that what it's all about!

Going to try taking it off now to see if it makes any difference for me. Though, since so far today I've made 0.00$, any increase in CTR would be an improvement :D

I took it off a few days ago to see what would happen.. CTR and earnings went up from the previous days... but Wednesdays and Thursdays are my biggest days so I'm not sure if this is the reason. CTR has been a lot higher before.

The "advertise on this site" message didn't go away immediately here either. Took about 24 hours. I do like it removed either way because it's less clutter.

I wish they'd move the "Google Ads" to the bottom of the box units like they do for the other ad formats.

I will give it a go and compare the results after 2 weeks.

I don't believe that for my particular domain it could dramatically modify the way my members view the ads... but who knows! I hope that could prove me wrong :)

    Regards,

I took it off today but i also took off a list of sites that i been blocking like best4sites that actully do not have anything on there sites. But yesterday when i was working out i had a thought. If the ad is shit and the people do not like it maybe they click on the back link and come back to my nice site and click on another add:)

I let you know in a week friday 19.30 Thai Time
