I just took it off after reading this, I guess I will see if it affects my CTR at all, how long does it usually take for the link to be removed?

I've been poking around for that option and can't find it. Do you just remove it from the code? Or, is there a step within set up to do it?

    Click the 'My Account' tab.
Scroll down to 'Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up [edit]' click edit.
Uncheck the box 'Subscription: Include me in Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up'
Scroll down & click 'Save Changes'

I took mine since they made it available. I knew that will lower ctr.

In my observation, the "advertise on this site" makes viewers immediately categorize everything around that area as "ads", so they skip over it. The word "advertise" is so business-minded that people who go to your site for content immediately thinks, "well, this part of the site (where your ad is) has nothing to do with me) so they skip over it. Plus, you already have that "Ads by Google' text, and the addition of the "Advertise on this site" just draws the viewer's eye to the fact that this particular block are ads. At least that's my theory.

I think that I will experiment with taking off the "advertise on my site" also.

Do you know if I will have to replace all of my codes after removing the option, or is that served automatically?

    Thanks for your help.

It's all done on Google's end. You won't have to replace anything.

I'm going to give this a try as well. My site is new and growing by the day, but hopefully this helps because I've made just over $0.00 from Adsense so far.

Isn't the OnSite service better for you? That way advertisers can bid or whatever on your site???
