I see now that one of the most popular forums for warez out there has google adsense ads on the front page. There is no way that Google hasn't seen this. http://suprbay.org/ Of course, there aren't actually any torrents on this site, but it is a site that nontheless promotes the use of illegal file sharing. They said themselves this isn't allowed. What's up with this?
Just because it isnt allowed doesnt mean people wont try it. I see many sites that show ads in ways that the google TOS does not allow. They get taken care of eventually.
I wouldnt say they are one of the most popular... but yeah, there are tons of sites out there that Violate google's TOS. Sometimes it just takes google a bit to notice...
Well, it might not be the biggest torrent forum, but it is owned by the world's largest torrent sites, the pirate bay and mininova. They have many, many users. With so many users, I'd say google would have spotted this by now. I'm thinking that google allows this for some reason... And I still see the ads there.
these warez people are brainy destructives !... the ads may not be their own ads .. they may want some one else to get banned .. the pub id may not be ... their pub ID !
well,it's a grey area. if it is discussion forum only and don't allow downloads they may be allowed, but i see there are links to download torrents. slyck has been using adsense for years. i even applied for adsense with a discussion forum of a usenet movie group.
I am quite amazed to see that this warez site have adsense, and cannot see them taking any action yet. But it takes time for google to check out it, imagine how many warez sites are hosted nowadays; some has adsense or any other ad networks.
Eventually they will be taken care of by google . Its just a matter of time when google reviews this site and send them account suspension mail
Exactly, I was talking about this recently in my "mature content is it allowed" thread. These sites continue to use AdSense and no action is taken by Google I have no problem with sites running AdSense on w@rez, adult content sites. I just want to be able to do that as well
At the end of the day a lot of this is down to how much and how effective the CTR is on these sites for Google. If its good then they won't rock the boat so to speak
I put adsense on one of my warez sites. And right when it started to make about $10 / day google banned the domain from using their ads. So in the end it will get banned.
