A hands-on look at the new MacBook Pro I never tried a Mac but this one looks smart! http://www.computerworld.com/hardwaretopics/hardware/story/0,10801,108051,00.html
There were some catches though, as uncovered in another thread on it here. Less screen real estate, no dual layer DVD burning, two CPU cores to burn up your battery (which will now really blow up your adaptor probably) no S-Video out etc. etc. Looks nice though.
Yeah, the battery is the killer. Even my old powerbook has a bad battery life, they only just managed to get the new one running for a decent amount of time. Im sure not getting a MBP until they give it a decent life.
Not according to some laptop guy who posts on a forum I own. I'll double check, but he really seems to know his stuff.
I know, but he spends all day reading, learning & selling laptops I guess, Ill pm him and get him to sign up here.
I used macs all through college (it's all they used there) for all of my graphics related courses (photoshop, illustrator, quark xpress, etc). I was never impressed by anything mac, and I really hated all the little differences (like no right click) that macs have.
Decided to take a look at what's being said myself. It appears you are right Shawn. 4 Hours - which is actually alright, if it is actually near that. http://www.oreillynet.com/mac/blog/2006/01/qod_macbook_pro_and_battery_li.html Steve Jobs says it will be about the same. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10853916/site/newsweek/page/2/ I'm a bit cynical on this one though. I'd like to see when it comes out and is used properly.
Hello Yo-yo I beg to differ. iMAC & POWERBOOK are the best. h**p://us.cuteseller.com/us/list/c/computers_Apple_712556_us.htm Hello Design Agent, my powerbook's battery is highly satisfying, are you sure you got a genuine Apple battery or a counterfeit only. Hi Andromeda, sorry to hear that you haven't tried a Mac yet. Check it out. Mac rules.
