I think something is wrong with my site...

Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Here is my site: http://www.ohioquotes.com

It was created a few weeks ago. For the first week, it ranked #1 for the search term "Ohio quotes" and was number 3 for "ohio health quotes." It was also fairly high for "Ohio health insurance." These are the important terms for me.

I have been submitting articles, commenting on blogs and adding directories. Yet, it appears I am falling in the rankings. Other websites, that should not be ranked higher, seem to be.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I add more content on the website?

Sorry for the long post. Again...thanks.

Firstly I woudl recommend looking at your metatags. For example you are unlikely to retain a top position for ohio quotes when its not a key phrase in your metatags. Then look at your front page content as it isn't there either as a specific phrase.

You've probably just dropped because someone updated their site when you knocked them off the top slot.

If your website is new it is possible it is in sandbox now. Another reason may be that you added new backlinks too quickly. In both cases it is common that the site get for some time down in SERPs. You should continue to add new content and build new backlinks - your site will go up in the future.

Ok. Thanks. One final question. Regarding adding "new content,"...You'll notice a "latest information" link on the left side. If I add new content in that area, will that be considered "new content" or does it have to be the whole article without a link (in the "Welcome to Ohio Health Insurance section in middle of front page).

I guess I am asking if a link to new content on the website is as good as reading the whole thing without a link...kind of like blogs.

    And...what is "sandbox"?

    Thanks.

Sandbox is an effect when new pages after some time suddenly drop in google. After some time the site go again higher. Sandbox usualy lasts from about 3 months to one year. The time depends on the keywords you target - more competitive keywords = you are longer in sandbox.

...and many people will swear that sandbox doesn't exist. You can believe or not :)
