I just checked my adsense account and one of my sites has a 25% CTR all of a sudden. I normally get about 1-2% CTR. The number of hits is the same, but I have 10 times the normal number of clicks. I think this might be a competitor messing with me somehow. What should I do? Contact google or not?
There's no need to contact them, really. It happens to me sometimes. I contacted Google once when I had 248% (two hundred forty eight per cent) CTR. They said everything is gonna be ok
Put it this way: My Daily earnings are usually under $3. Today I earned about $25. It seems to good to be true.
It is better be safe than sorry... but an occasional 25% CTR is not something out of the ordinary... some ppl manage to get >30% CTR consistently.
dont mail them around too much with invalid click activity , you should just ignore it google will clean it up itself
That CTR does sound a bit high but you're probably okay. Personally, I would bounce it off of Google just to be safe.
Well, I contacted google and have rec'd no reply. My CTR for today is over 30%. This has me really worried and I am thinking about taking down my ads. I am convinced that someone is messing with me.
I suggest to you that you please report about it to Google. They will investigate about this click mishap.
I don't think this is "Click Bombing" or whatever the pros call it I would be worried if you had like 13.000% CTR which has happened to some unlucky guys here...
Google sent me this in an email: " While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we've decided to disable your account. Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation." It sucks because I told them to look into it.
Wow, did this happen in response to your email where you asked to look into the issue? This really sucks then... Email them back explaining the situation and asking to reinstate the account.
I guess it is worth a try. It sucks for me because I was at 92 dollars... just under the 100 dollar payout. Steve
