I think Penguin got me! But not sure.

I have a new site that was beginning to do great on the search engines. http://michelada-recipes.com/ I was on page one of Google for many keywords and on other search engines for even more. I was receiving 100+ visitors from free search traffic. Now all of my visitors are from paid AdWords and back links. I have lost almost all of my traffic. It is really depressing. I was starting to feel so good about how well my site was doing and now nothing. Please let me know if you can figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sorry to hear that. But it is happening to many of us. If your contents aren't rich enough you would be slapped by penguin. :(

Many of us experience dropping our traffics and ranks and that because of penguin and panda updates, but I'm sure that we can recover on this by having improving our site contents and build more natural links for our site. we must avoid duplicate content, keyword stuffing, cloaking in building our links.

Now I don't think it was the penguin update. I might have been thrown in google's sandbox. It didn't happen until May 6th and the penguin update came out in April. Let me know what you think. How do I get out of the sandbox?

watch happy feet 2 , you will hate it .

penguin update has affected you can say all sites (forum/discussions genre) sites , even bigger sites like mine , i shifted from PR7 to PR6 , with just an update , and not only that i received a mail at my google webmaster panel , regarding over optimization of pages , i reduced my tags and use of back-links , and added for a review , still now , i got no response and my page rank has been permanently reduced.

There is nothing you can do as for now, just pray that a new "better" update that will fix the "evil" that penguin has done will come out

My site is pretty new. Hopefully I am just seeing my newbie search engine boost wear off.

If you have a website with unique content and you're not stealing it from other sites or using RSS feeds as your main source of content then you're fine.

I've visited your website, try improving your site a littlel bit.

Here some steps that you can follow :
    1. Increase more unique paragraphs, minimum 500 words, the more useful content, the better
    2. Your keyword density is to high, penguin is targetting keyword stuffing stuff. just make your keyword density about 1%. Either reduce the use of keywords and substitute it with relevant keywords or increase more words by using different keywords. I will go for 2nd though.
    3. Reduce bounce rate & increase visitor's time. You can add a video, or put a poll, quiz, or any other method that you like to engage with your visitors.

Thanks for the useful info farhansyah. I will work on these. I have come back though. I am back to page one for a few keywords, but still at the bottom of the list. I have mainly been working on my quality backlinks. Looks like it payed off. I swear I didn't think it would be this difficult when I started but I am determined to succeed. If anyone has anything that may help me out please PM me.

    Thanks,
