With the price "adjustment" over at vBulletin, MyBB is bound to get some of that market share. Having said that, more and more people have been converting over to IPB rather than go to SMF, MyBB, or phpBB. You know what though? Rightfully so.

I don't think so, while myBB is a very good forum software, phpBB is still the best in terms of:

    1. Mods & style availability.
    2. Support provided.
    3. phpBB has the biggest free forum support community.
    4. The phpBB team are very quick when it comes to updating due to bugs and secruity issues.

    That's just my opinion though.

MyBB is newer, but for now PHPBB is more developed, has wider support and modifications available.

That's a joke and a complete falsehood. If it's older and "more developed" then why does MyBB have MORE features? MyBB develops much faster than SMF and has better code. phpbb is a joke.

They both have their pros and cons in my opinion, and they both have a dedicated community, so I think they will both keep a chunk of the market share.

I have never had a problem using PHPbb and I'm not going to be leaving anytime soon, I find that phpbb3 styles are easy to integrate in with joomla and I don't even know how to code

It should never take over ten minutes (let alone 45) to install a mod. Sorry guys. I also don't really want to learn some proprietary language to code a style.

    I don't think so.

I don't see PHPbb losing its market share any time soon. However I do think that MyBB will take SMF, I really don't think that SMF will continue. I use PHPbb because its easy to style and integrate into joomla even I was able to muck around with phpbb to style it into my joomla website and I now have perfect integration. I don't think that I would have been able to do this with Mybb's styling although I admit I have not had a long look at mybb.
