Tell me what you think is wrong with it.

Traffic at the moment is between 1 and 10 visits a day.

    Thanks

Promote it like there's no tomorrow. Comment, guest post, use social media. Try advertising if you have too. And of course, quality content

There are a lot of things that you can do, some of which have already been mentioned, but I'll say it anyway.
    1. Guest Blogging: This is where you write a unique article and email it to another blogger in your niche so that they can publish it. This way you get exposure to their audience and you get a nice backlink from an established website.
    2. Commenting: Actively comment on a few blogs in your niche and actively participate in a forum in your niche in order to establish yourself as an authority on your topic. Don't say, "nice comment" or "nice post" but write meaningful stuff.
    3. SEO: SEO is ok if you're starting out in an uncompetitive niche. If your blogging in a really competitive niche, then I wouldn't worry about SEO too much, but if your niche is pretty small, then this is a great way to get started and see quick results. Just bookmark your website through social bookmarking tools, write articles for article directories, submit your blog to blog directories, etc. This is mostly just off-site SEO.
    4. One great way to get more traffic when your starting is to expand into a new medium. For example, if you publish text on your blog, try making videos on Youtube, or try starting a Podcast on iTunes. This will give you more exposure very quickly.

Just pick a method and focus on it. If you have any questions, I would be happy to clarify.

    Thanks for all your help

would it be possible to get more specific advice, I didn't post a link to my blog in my previous post as I hoped people would click the link where it says recent blog post below my user name but here is a nice obvious link to my blog for you Deranged Scratchings

    1. Guest blogging>> is not an option for me other artists will not want to promote my work as I am their competition.
    2. Commenting>> I do a fair bit of commenting and am part of a blogger forum which brings followers and traffic.
    3. SEO>> I can learn more here, but I am using google tool for keywords. more advice on this is welcome (please look at my blog first so you don't tell me to do things I'm already doing)
4.new media>> I use Utube lots, if my blog was as successful as my utube channel I would be very happy.

I am using facebook to promote my blog, I use Twitter too but it isn't very effective as I have very few followers.

My most recent post is obviously a traffic killer but ignoring that what else am I doing wrong.
    Thanks

You need to promote it properly.
    >> Use Social bookmarking.
    >> Inform your friends about your blog.
    >> Comment and regularly read other blogs of your niche.
    >> Participate in bloggers contests. If you win, the traffic you are going to get is tremendous.

put the link so we can see what your site looks like.. DO on page seo put up unique content people wont stay if they have nothing to read and update it daily. Off page seo do Articles 500 words submit them to 5-10 sites. Next do do follow forum and blog commenting. It would help if they are related to your niche if possiable and most blogs and forums now a days are do follow. Next i would do a facebook fan page i myself have not tried this but plan too but i know others who say it works wonders. tons of off page seo work you can do for free just do it manually. May take more time but we have tons of time. And stick with it least your getting visits more then most new sites. Good luck:)

Sometimes, even though a blog has good content, it's not arranged in a way that is search engine friendly.
    Here are some suggestions:

    1. Keyword research. If your blog were to come up in an organic search, what would people have typed into Google to find it? Focus each blog post on a specific keyword/phrase. Focus each video on a specific keyword/phrase.
    2. On page SEO. Use the keyword in your h1,h2 tags. This will tell the search engines specifically what your blog post is about. Use bolding or italics to emphasize the keyword that you are focusing on. Tag your images with the same keyword that your blog post is about. Link one post to another on your blog.
    3. Promote your blog - Once you have the first 2 in place, now you can start deep linking by writing articles, guest posts, comments, etc with anchor text pointing back to specific pages on your blog.

    Good luck
